3 sections0:00Good morning and happy Friday. Heading into today's session, the S&P 500 ETF and the NASDAQ 100 ETF are both sitting at a crossroads and DraftKings is one name worth watching as the tape tries to find direction. Yesterday's sector rotation told a cautious story. Industrials, technology, and financials held up best, though all three still finished in the red. The real damage showed up in communication services, consumer discretionary, and real estate. each dropping roughly two and a half% or more which technically suggests risk appetite was pulling back and rate sensitive areas saw meaningful selling pressure. Gold futures saw volume running nearly six times the average while prices slipped about 1 and a4% signaling elevated conviction around that move and worth watching for follow-through. Marvel technology printed volume at 3 and a half times its norm, a level that technically indicates strong participant interest regardless of direction. SLB also saw above average activity at 2.7 times normal, suggesting institutional attention in the energy services space. The S&P 500 ETF is coming in with an RSI right around 51, which the automated system reads as neutral momentum with no technical lean in either direction. Volume ran slightly above its 20-day average at 1.2 two times, which can indicate modest engagement, but stops well short of a conviction signal. Until this ETF breaks cleanly from its current range, the technical picture remains a wait and see. The NASDAQ 100 ETF is also parked in neutral territory with an RSI of 53, just barely above the midpoint and not yet signaling any directional bias.
1:45According to the technical model, volume came in at exactly its 20-day average. So, there was nothing unusual in participation levels. Traders watching this one may look to see whether tech names can stabilize given the sector's relative resilience yesterday. DraftKings heads into Friday with an RSI of roughly 51 and volume in line with its recent average, both of which the automated system flags as neutral conditions. The average true range of about a 144 tells you this stock carries meaningful daily swing potential. So setups can develop quickly if momentum shifts. For now the technicals are not pointing in any clear direction making it a name to monitor rather than anticipate.
